Maggi Moss’ 7-year-old former claimer Native Ruler showed he’s all class with a hard-fought victory in Saturday’s $50,000 King Cotton Stakes at Oaklawn Park. After a three-horse battle to the wire, the veteran runner, who won the same race in 2009, prevailed by a neck over Mighty Rule with River Bear another neck behind in third. Oaklawn Track Announcer Terry Wallace Ends Streak at 20,191

Terry Wallace, Oaklawn Park’s track announcer for 37 years, ended his record streak of consecutive race calls at 20,191 Friday when he handed over the microphone to Frank Mirahmadi for the fifth race, which was won by Heavenly Appeal. Wallace, who was back in the booth for the sixth race, took advantage of Mirahmadi’s visit to the track and enjoyed his very first Oaklawn race among the fans on the apron. Read More
