Oaklawn’s on-site racing fans will be able to enjoy the convenience of wagering with their smart phones when the track opens for the live season Friday, Jan. 13. MyOaklawn will work with all i-phones, i-pads, Androids and Blackberrys.

When using MyOaklawn, guests can wager with their smart phones from the paddock area, from the rail or anywhere on the track. There are no fees and no waiting in lines to wager. Accounts last as long as a person wants them to – for a day, for a week or all season.

Patrons will be able to sign up for MyOaklawn at the Information Booth upon arrival at the track and can fund their accounts and collect their winnings at designated mutuel windows throughout the facility. In order to wager using a smart phone, mobile devices will need to be set to Oaklawn’s free wi-fi internet service and patrons will automatically be directed to the site.

“We are very excited to offer the best racing fans in the country the most convenient way of wagering,” said Assistant General Manager of Racing David Longinotti. “Oaklawn is fortunate to enjoy large crowds, especially on weekends and this service will help fans avoid long lines at the windows. It doesn’t matter if they are sitting in one of our restaurants or standing along the rail, all they will need to place wager is a mobile device.”

Oaklawn’s 2012 Live Meet runs Friday, Jan. 13 – Saturday, April 14. Racing is conducted Thursdays – Sundays with two holiday Monday cards (Jan. 16 & Feb. 20) and one Wednesday card (April 11). For more information, visit www.oaklawn.com/myoaklawn.
