• Entering his 16th straight season in Arkansas, Jockey Luis Quinonez carries some strong momentum into
2013 after a banner Remington Park meet where he went head to head for the leading jockey title with Cliff
Berry.
• The former Oaklawn champ, had a terrific 2012 meet, finishing fourth in the standings with 35 wins and
piloting Pin Oak Stable’s Alternation to three straight victories in the Essex, Razorback and Oaklawn
Handicaps. Was also aboard when the horse won the Pimlico Special and Governor’s Cup.
• Other top mounts in 2012 included She’s All In, Soonerette, Okie Ride, I’m a Bear and Boca Bay.
• He is the oldest of three jockey brothers and has made Oaklawn, Prairie Meadows and Remington his circuit
in recent seasons after four dominating years as the “riding king of Minnesota” at Canterbury Park from
1995-99.
• When Luis started riding his one big goal wasn’t to win the Kentucky Derby, but rather tobecome a citizen of
the United States. He has since reached that goal and is now a proud citizen.
