Kellyn Gorder

•    Growing up in Minnesota, Gorder began galloping horses as a teenager for neighbors before becoming a jockey while still in high school.  He rode his first winner at Atokad Park in Nebraska. 
•    While attending college, Gorder continued to gallop horses at the then-new Canterbury Downs.  He was an assistant and exercise rider for Hall of Fame trainer Jack Van Berg in the early 1990s.
•    Gorder opened his public stable in 2007.  His first winner as a licensed trainer was Grammarian, who became his first graded stakes winner with his victory in the 2002 G2 Sunset Handicap.  Other stakes winners for Gorder include include Glint, Hot Hot Mama and Maid of Heaven.
•    One of the most significant wins of his career came in 2012 when Bourbon Courage captured the G2 Super Derby at Louisiana Downs.  Notable wins in 2013 included: General Election in the G3 Arlington Classic and G3 Jefferson Cup, Devious Intent in the G3 Gardenia at Ellis Park, and Take It Like a Man in the Researcher at Charles Town.
