Oaklawn Handicappers Hour Returns on First Saturday of the 2010 Live Season
Sunday, November 01, 2009
The Resort Racing Network (KVRE, 92.9 FM) has concluded its broadcasts for 2009 and will resume the weekly interactive call-in show on the opening Saturday of the live 2010 season, January 16, 2010.Track Announcer Terry Wallace will again co-host the show with local radio personality Tom Nichols.
Each show has focused on racing around the country, although Saturday's concluding show focused almost exclusively on the races of Breeders' Cup. Each show allowed for callers to phone in with their longshot picks for the day and the best were rewarded with prizes throughout the year. John from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, called in Cat Park ($29.00) in the fifth race at Keeneland on October 24 and that turned out to be the best longshot of October and November, winning for John a Daily Racing Form briefcase. None of the callers were able to select a winner over the past weekend, shooting at longshots which failed to prevail on Breeders' Cup Day.
